Rigorous Leadership & Navy SEAL’s Program Available to Local Youth

Police Department partners with Maine Leadership Institute to offer SEALSfit
PORTLAND, Maine – Starting Monday September 2nd, the Portland Police Department and the Maine Leadership Institute will offer its third SEALSfit, a seven-week youth leadership and anti-bullying program led by retired Navy SEAL Hans Ruediger with mentors from local, county, and state law enforcement agencies. The course incorporates physical training based on the US Navy SEALS regiment and interpersonal skills development. The free program is open to Greater Portland youth ranging in age from fifteen to eighteen years-old, who can attend all twenty-sessions (graduation October 18). The course scheduled is three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Classes are held at the Portland Police Department and physical training will take place at the soccer field adjacent to the Back Cove. The deadline for registration is August 26, 2013.
