Portland Public Library announces, “STEM Educator Workshop”
Saturday, February 27th from 10am-4:30pm in the Rines Auditorium
Portland, Maine - Portland Public Library is pleased to host STEM Educator Workshop on February 27th from 10am-4:30pm in the Rines Auditorium. This workshop is for Classroom Teachers, Informal Educators, Homeschool Leaders, Librarians, and Scout Leaders. If you work with youth ages 8-12, you will benefit from this workshop!This FREE professional development day will include research-based, standards-aligned, inquiry-based science instruction primarily featuring content from PBS SciGirls, a National Science Foundation funded project.
Workshop Participants Will Receive:
· Classroom ideas and strategies that work great with both boys and girls.
· Hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math activities (you'll get to try them out!)
· Overview of SciGirls, Challenger, and EPSCoR programs
· Lots of Great Resources: Curriculum, Educator Guide, DVD, online sites
· Lunch, contact hours toward CEUs, and a travel stipend are included!
