NASHUA, NH – The Thomas College women's soccer team defeated Daniel Webster College on Saturday in a non-conference contest 4-1. Four different goal scorers found the back of the net for the Terriers, with senior Bronte Howorth adding an assist and first year Camille Filloramo adding two assists.
Kasja Kaufedt put the Terriers up 1-0 on a 25-yard kick past an outstretched Stephanie Evans just 2:21 into the game. The Eagles answered just 5:17 later when Bria Taylor took a loose ball up the middle and beat Terrier keeper Paige Leary to the left corner to tie it.
First year player Cassie Contigiani broke the tie with a 20-yard kick at the 22 minute mark for a 2-1 game at the half. Howorth gave Thomas some insurance four minutes into the second half to give the Red and Black a 3-1 lead. At the 73rd minute Lauren Pelletier sealed the 4-1 victory for the Terriers with her first collegiate goal.
Leary stopped three Eagle shots in net for the Terriers over 66 minutes before yielding to Ashley Gooden. Evans posted 21 saves on the afternoon for the Eagles in the loss.
The Thomas women's soccer team will return to the pitch on Saturday, September 26 at 3:30pm when they head to Lyndon State for their first conference game of the season.
