BRUNSWICK, ME – Calin Stoicov MD, PhD has joined Mid Coast Medical Group – Gastroenterology and the active medical staff of Mid Coast Hospital. He joins group partners, Dr. Migeul Arguedas and Dr. Gary Zartarian, in offering high quality diagnostics, prevention, and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver diseases with an emphasis on patient-centered care.
Board certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Stoicov earned his medical degree from the State Medical and Pharmaceutical University “N.Testemitanu” of the Republic of Moldova. He completed a combined residency and PhD program followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. His training includes general gastroenterology and liver transplant.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to join such a well-established practice, widely recognized for the delivery of high quality patient-centered care,” said Dr. Stoicov. “I look forward to providing the Midcoast community with exceptional care using state of the art technologies.”
The providers of Mid Coast Medical Group – Gastroenterology have been trained in the newest medical technology including the practice’s most recent acquisition, the EVIS EXERA III Video Endoscopy System from Olympus. The new system will assist physicians with detecting and treating gastrointestinal diseases, such as colorectal cancer, at an earlier stage when treatments have the highest rates of success.
“With the acquisition of the Olympus EVIS EXERA III system and the team of world-class physicians trained in its use, our goals are to improve efficiency while delivering the highest quality care to our patients. With this advanced technology, we aim to provide our patients with more accurate diagnoses, shorten their procedure times, and improve their overall experience,” said Dr. Scott Mills, Vice President of Medical Administration and Chief Medical Officer at Mid Coast Hospital.
Mid Coast Medical Group–Gastroenterology is currently accepting new patients in need of digestive health and gastroenterology services. For information, referrals, and appointments call (207) 406-7300 or visit www.midcoasthealth.com/mcmg/gastroenterology.
