Rockland, Maine - The Oceanside High School Girls JV and Varsity Basketball had a great season home opener by defeating Waterville on Tuesday, December 8th, 2015 in Rockland, Maine.Oceanside JV team won their game by a score of 41-22. Scorers were Abby V. 5pts, Hope Butler 10pts, Olivia Staples 3pts, Morgan Williams 2pts, Amelia Campbell 4pts, Kassidy R. 2pts, Kalli Grover 2pts, Jordan Brackett 2pts, Elise Laslavic 7pts and Chloe Jones with 4pts.
Waterville players that were able to score against Oceanside were Alyssa Drew 2pts, Lilyan Foster 7pts, Lauren Smith 2pts, Katie H. 2pts, Hannah LeClair 6pts and Desiree Loring with 3pts.
The Oceanside Girls JV team had a strong showing in this game against Waterville.
Continuing the winning, Oceanside Varsity won their game by a score of 54-32. A twenty two point
win against Waterville.
According to Oceanside's coach; Kalyn Grover was our high scorer tallying 12 points, and shooting 4 for 6 from the foul line. Supporting her was Alexis Mazurek with 11 points, and 1 for 1 from the line. We then had 8 other players on the score board. As a team we shot 50% from the foul line, going 15 for 30.Our defense was key Tuesday night, playing tough and smart for the full 32 minutes.
