Women Finish Sixth at Bowdoin Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College women's cross country team placed sixth with 169 points in the 6K Bowdoin College Invitational on Saturday. Heather Eaton (Lincolnville, Maine) paced the Monks and placed fifth out of 116 runners overall with a 23:34 time.

Bowdoin College, featuring five of the top six runners, cruised to the invitational title with 16 points, well ahead of runner-up Colby College (63 points). Bowdoin's Sarah Kelley won the event with a 23:14 performance, 17 seconds ahead of her teammate, Lucy Skinner.

FOR THE MONKS:

• Freshman Sarah Curtin (Strafford, N.H.) placed 40th with a 26:16 effort
• First-year Maureen Herlihy (Walpole, Mass.) finished 42nd with a 26:21 performance
• Freshman Lauren Lecompte posted a 27:43 effort and placed 66th overall
• Junior Kristina Schelling (Pelham, N.H.) placed 79th (29:03)
• Junior Jill Keimach (Scarborough, Maine) was 88th (30:10)
• Junior Marisa Lundy (Merrimac, Mass.) raced to a 91st-place finish (30:23)
• Junior Megan McLaughlin (Kingston, N.H.) finished 104th (35:40)
• Junior Meghan Fullarton (Windham, Maine) was 113th (40:50)

Saint Joseph's is off until Saturday, October 10th when the team hosts the Runnin' Monks Invitational.
