WATERVILLE, Maine - The Thomas College men's soccer team shutout the University of New England 1-0 on Saturday night in a non-conference game at Smith Field. DJ Nicholas scored the lone goal for the Terriers in the win.

The Terriers tallied their only goal midway through the first half. London Steede-Jackson passed it through the defending line to Nicholas who fired it past the keeper and into the back of the net.
Thomas maintained the 1-0 lead in to half time, holding the Nor'easters without a shot on goal through the first 45 minutes.

The Nor'easters threatened the Terrier lead throughout the second half, with goalkeeper Joakim Sternas making timely stops, as well as strong defensive play by Lukas Bohman.
The Red and Black totaled seven shots on goal, with UNE only recording two.

Sternas stopped both shots he faced en route to his first shutout of the season. Nate Diffin, who played the first 65 minutes of the game before being relieved by Jake Rostkowski, was tagged with the loss.

The Terriers will hit the road on Saturday for their first conference match of the season against Lyndon State at 1:00 pm.
