HADLEY, Mass. -- Bates junior outside hitter Chandler McGrath was named NESCAC Volleyball Co-Player of the Week, the New England Small College Athletic Conference announced Monday, after leading the Bobcats to a big 3-0 week. McGrath shares the honor with Colby's Kim Donaldson.
McGrath (Seal Beach, Calif.) had three of the first four 20-kill matches of her career in a 3-0 week for the Bobcats, who won back-to-back NESCAC matches for the first time since 2004 and are 2-0 in NESCAC play for the first time since 2003. For the week, McGrath averaged 5.25 kills, 1.83 digs and 0.33 blocks per set.
McGrath is Bates' first NESCAC player of the week since senior Laryssa Schepel (Flemington, N.J.) on Sept. 9, 2013.
Bates (3-4, 2-0 NESCAC) takes its three-match winning streak to Maine Maritime Academy on Wednesday at 7pm, then hosts Colby in a NESCAC showdowon on Friday at 7pm.
