LEWISTON, Maine -- Four different players scored for the Bates College women's soccer in a 4-0 non-conference victory over Husson University Wednesday night, before a large crowd on a warm Wednesday night at Garcelon Field.

The win kept Bates (2-0-1) undefeated and dropped Husson to 2-2-1.

First-year Olivia Amdur (Chicago, Ill.) led off the scoring in the 12th minute. Senior Maggie Coco (Avon, Conn.) played a through-ball from the middle of Bates' defensive half that Amdur caught up to behind the Eagles' defense. Amdur was able to dribble in and shoot against defenseless Husson goalkeeper Jordyn Hopkins, to score her second goal of the season.

Bates outshot Husson 29-5 overall and 11-3 in the first half, but the Eagles kept the deficit at one goal at the end of the first period. Hopkins made four saves in the first half and nine for the game.

Bates made it 2-0 in the 50th minute on a similar play to the first goal, as sophomore Julia Rosen (Springfield, Ill.) tracked down sophomore Hannah Behringer's (Old Lyme, Conn.) lead pass from midfield to set up another uncontested shot on a breakaway. Rosen buried the ball inside the near (left) post for her first goal of the season.

Behringer added her second goal of the year in the 62nd minute, dribbling through traffic and getting off a shot inside the far (right) post while falling down inside the box. In the 67th minute the Bobcats added another impressive goal, as senior Caitrin Griffin (Geneva, Ill.) drove hard with the ball, sealing off a defender as she tapped a short pass to first-year Cassidy McCarns (Brunswick, Maine) on her right. McCarns finished with a rocket into the left side of the net for her first collegiate goal.

The game was designated as "Maine High School Night," with girls' soccer teams from five area high schools -- Edward Little, Lewiston, Mt. Ararat, Oak Hill and Scarborough -- attending the game and participating in a halftime juggling contest.

Sophomore Sarah McCarthy (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) finished with two saves in goal for Bates; first-year Talia Regenstein (San Francisco, Calif.) manned Bates' goal for the final 19 minutes.

Bates will play at Maine Maritime in a non-conference game on Sunday at 3:30pm.
