Terriers Place 5th at Mayflower Invitational

HENNIKER, New Hampshire - The Terriers men's cross country squad had a strong 5th place finish, in their second race of the 2015 season, the Mayflower Invitational hosted by New England College.  Junior Nick Kopf led the way once again for the Terriers, running a 17:30 time.  His run placed him inside the top-10 of the 98 runner field with a 9th place finish.

First year runner Ethan Harriman followed Kopf for a 15th place finish, just 25 seconds behind with a 17:55.  50 seconds behind Harriman was Aron MacLean, placing 31st at the 18:45 mark. Finishing in 34th place with an 18:50 time was Tito Naranja, 44th was Trystan Mercier (19:25), 49th Forrest Labbe (19:51), and Sam Cook finished 51st with a time of 19:55.

Benjamin Bunnell of Colby-Sawyer College finished first with a 16:15 in a dominating performance for the Chargers, who finished 3rd overall.  Finishing runner-up, 18 seconds off the leader was Jake Hastings of Fitchburg State, who was followed by Scott Shaw of New England College that rounded out the top three with a 16:36.

The men's cross country team will return to action next Saturday, Sept. 19 in Johnson, Vermont at the Johnson State Invitational.
